A British man has died after suffering a heavy fall in the French Alps.
The 30-year-old died on the& Serre Chevalier resort in the La Salle-les-Alpes and was taken to hospital last week, however died in a single day.
France's BFMTV stated the skier was 'brain lifeless' when being transported to hospital, the place he was later pronounced lifeless.
Patrick Arnaud, the top of Serre Chevalier Resort, advised Le Dauphine: 'The sufferer was found by a patroller who immediately raised the alarm.
'Joined by a number of other trackers, they offered first help. All of the ski area groups are affected by this tragedy and all our ideas are with the family.'
An investigation has been opened into the incident, based on Marion Lozac'hmeur, the world's local public prosecutor.
An FCDO spokesperson informed Metro.co.uk: 'We're supporting the family of a British man who has died in France and are in touch with the local authorities.'
The person has not yet been formally identified.
He's the second British nationwide to die within the alps within days, following a 63-year-old British national collapsing and dying after suffering a heart assault on the slopes.
